Sadie, Sadie, Lovely Lab Lady

  • The following is a note from this dog's rescuer:

This truly wonderful middle aged girl is “Sadie,” recently rescued from the Baldwin Park shelter after her owners lost their home.

Sadie is the reason people become lab lovers. She’s sweet, friendly, obedient, energetic but not hyper, well behaved, and mostly just ready to hang around and be part of the family.

Sadie is housebroken, obedience trained, loves cars, totally fine with dogs and cats, and is all around the kind of dog that is easy to live with and love.  She is spayed and vaccinated.  Like a lot of older labs, she does have some skin sensitivities and signs of early arthritis, but that sort of goes with the territory with these dogs. We all get a bit creaky as we get older!

Sadie is in private rescue and her adoption fee a donation to an animal rescue group.

Young Chocolate Female Mix

  • The following is a note from this dog's rescuer:

We found this sweet girl on our front porch on Nov. 22  She had been hit by a car, had a few big lumps on her face, and was terribly scared.  We brought her in, took a couple of pictures and sent them to our neighborhood e-mail group (125 neighbors)

We've contacted several lost and found sites and failed to find her owner.  After a couple of days took her to our vet to get checked out, she had no ID or chip.  We had her spayed, wormed, and got her shots, including rabies.  She is now in good health and weighs about 40 lbs.  Our vet thinks she's a Lab/Pit mix, about 9 months old.

We have 6 other rescue dogs, so we can't keep her.

She had never before been in a house, never seen grass nor a leash. She had no training whatsoever.  By looking at her we suspect she had been kept in a kennel.

She's a very sweet and smart young pup, quickly learned to sit and walk on a leash and is now house trained.  She learned the to go in and out a dog door pretty quickly.  It's been a joy watching her discover grass, the house, a dog bed and toys to play with.  She's finding it's fun to run after a tennis ball, but is still learning to bring it back to me.  She 's still pretty shy and afraid of tall men, we're working on that issue now and she's responding nicely.

If this sweet pup is your cup of tea (and why wouldn't she be?), please drop a line to or leave a voicemail at 888-412-3382.

3 year old Lab/Staffordshire mix male

Extremely handsome! Teddy is so adorable and gorgeous but he doesn't know it quiet yet: He was found on the street with his little buddy and he was terrified. Teddy is a youngster, who still has to learn that there are many good people in the world. He is a bit nervous around new people but warms up quickly and acts like a typical puppy. He plays and romps around. Teddy would do great in a home with a patient and sensitive person/family with a secure yard and either with or without another dog. He is exuberant in play and affectionate. Please give handsome Teddy a wonderful home, as black dogs often get overlooked.

Teddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to go!

1-1/2 year old female Lab/Saint Bernard

This is Molly. She turns 2 years old on November. She is half Labrador retriever and half Saint Bernard. She likes to sit on your lap and hold hands. Molly does not like cats, but she loves long walks and car rides. Molly loves to play in the hose , pools , and the ocean. She is a total water dog. She loves lazy Sundays staying in bed all day and snuggling. She can be full of energy but after she eats dinner she is out snoring.

Charly Girl
5 year old yellow female

Charly Girl
5 years

They don't come any prettier: Ms. Charly is a beautiful, dainty girl. She is a bit shy at first. Charly Girl has received some obedience training to make her feel more secure and help her to feel more comfortable around new people. Charly Girl was diagnosed with cataracts, which has caused her to have lost about 50 percent of her vision. The specialist does not recommend surgery at this point, as her vision is "too good, to have the procedure take place". So, unless, her vision ability decreases, surgery is not an option. Charly Girl is not on any medication and we believe, that Charly Girl's shyness is connected to her vision impairment. Therefore, we are looking for a patient home for Charly Girl, that will give her the time and patience to blossom. Once comfortable, Charly Girl loves to snuggle and be silly. Charly Girl is a great combination of an exercise companion and a couch potato. She has a calm, sweet demeanor and we are looking to place her into a structured household with lots of love!
