This little boy should be with a loving family, trust me I'd take him if I could! He's so tiny and thin, and looked so completely defenceless. Sorry about the photo, he slunk away and hid in the corner, while the others came forward, I just heard his crying.

This boy is WONDERFUL - he is a happy gentle boy. He came in with another dog and the two of them get along great - so he is good with dogs. He loves people and has that classic labby temperment. He does wonderful on the leash - someone has taught this boy to heal!! Sit is also in his repetoire and he is just a lovely wonderful companion. His coat is nice and his health seems terrific. Anyone who loves labs will love this boy

Layla
Impound Number A3818752

1 yeare old spayed female - this girl is WONDERFUL. She has a total labby outlook on life - and while she is a mix - she is 90% lab in appearance- and 100% lab in personality. She easily passed her safer test and actually thought all the stuff was kind of a fun game. Rock solid in that respect. She gets along great with other dogs and loves people universally. And as you can see from her photo - she loves to smile. She is active but not wild and walks reasonably well on a leash. This girl is available now and would love to get adopted ASAP because being with people is really her thing. So if you are looking for a young yellow female - go meet her - you will definitely fall for her- she is a good girl!!

2 year old yellow male - what a happy friendly boy!! Very affectionate with people - beautiful coat and looks to be in great shape. He loves tennis balls and in the yard where there was an abundance of tennis balls he kept me laughing because he simply could not chose with ball to keep so he kept picking one up and then dropping it for another one - Utopia is where I think he thought he was. Any lab lover would be thrilled to have this guy - he is on the larger size and has a wonderful temperment

1 Year Old Yellow Female
listed 5/6/2008

If you want to make a huge difference in a dog's life, here's a beautiful special needs girl who may be the one for you.

This dog was delivered to Pasadena Humane by a good samaritan who found her running loose. The shelter says she's blind, having dilated pupils and cloudy corneas. If the cloudiness is due to cataracts, the blindness could be corrected with lens implants. On the other hand, if it's due to glaucoma, she'll no doubt be blind for life.

That's not anything like a terrible fate for a dog. It's our experience that blind dogs do extremely well, since their senses of smell and hearing are so highly developed. But each must find that special person who will take them in and provide the loving care and environment they so desperately need.

Here are comments from the person who found the dog:

"She is truly much cuter in person, but that's the photo they took of her on arrival.

I don't know the cause of her blindness or if it was from birth. She does seem fearless however because when I found her she was running with not much hesitation even though she couldn't see.

I understand that most rescues are unfortunately full, but am trying very hard to find someone to give her a chance. She is available for adoption from the Humane Society on 5/8. I don't know alot about her as I wasn't able to keep her. I have a cranky 15 year old dog that doesn't understand why this little pup has so much energy and wanted to play all the time!"

Notes from a shelter scout:

This is a very good looking dog...came in as a stray on 4/17, so she is available now.

She is sweet and playful. She has a lot of energy. She is really good with people, I am not sure she is good with other dogs. She was barking at other dogs, so she might be best as an only dog, but she loves people.

3 Year Old Yellow Male
listed 4/10/2008

Couch potatoes need not apply. Zack is one high energy, exuberant dog. He is looking for an active owner who can take him running and hiking in the big outdoors. Zack knows sit and shake, and is quickly learning to lay down. He is one smart boy. He is a little mouthy and takes treats very hard, but after just a couple of loud ouches, he immediately started to be gentler. He responded beautifully and actually waited for an ok before he took the treat. A little bit of training will take this boy a long way. Zack really likes to talk. He doesn't just bark, you get the feeling he's really trying to tell you something. We believe a large part of his barking is frustration from being kenneled and a lack of exercise. If you have the time and energy for Zack, he will make a great companion. Children over 15 are recommended due to Zack's high energy and mouthiness.

The whole time in the yard he just wanted to sit next to me. The eye contact with this dog is amazing, like he is trying to talk to you with his eyes. He flopped down in front of me "Please scratch my belly!"

He loves to shake hands, and constantly offers his paw. He is a real "people dog" which is amazing considering it seems like his people werent' so great, as they dumped him after seven years ((sigh)).

Is there someone out there who will consider a calm, beautiful, older boy? Please take the time to meet him, he will steal your heart.
