Molly and Daisy

We are interested in plaqcing our two beatiful english yellow labs in a new home. These dogs are approximately 10 years old, and were recently rescued by us from my husbands father who was in ailing health and not caring for the dogs (they were not being walked, were over fed and were living in a 6 x 6 dog run covered with urine & feces) -- he would not seek the help he needed for himself until he found something to do with the dogs. The dogs have been with us now for 6 months and are happy and healthy. Unfortunately I cannot take care of them in the way they need or deserve. I have 5 young children ranging in age from 2-8 who love the dogs (and the feeling is quite mutual). Unfortunately I am so busy that I cannot spend any time with the dogs. They are almost never walked and days go by without them getting any attention other than feeding and watering. We have a small backyard that they have free run in, but because of the boredom they thave done a little rearranging of the backyard landscape. I recently spent $2500 on having someone train them and they responded well. The children can walk them on a leash now, their barking is controlled, and they follow basic commands (sit, stay, down, on your spot, etc.). They are house trained but because our house is small and they are big, they are not permitted inside our house. Unfortunately, I'm unable to keep working with them and worry that the time, money & effort will have been for nothing. Molly has a mole-type spot on her right lower eyelid that I have had biopsied and is a normal, benign growth. They are unbelievably nice and gently dogs and truly deserve a good home... better than we can give them. |
