Most nonprofit rescues lead a hand-to-mouth existence financially, and we're no exception. We always need funds to enable us to continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome unwanted Retrievers and to carry out educational programs to promote humane treatment and care of companion dogs.

One of our largest expenses is surgery to correct orthopedic or other health conditions. It's very difficult to plan for expenses in this category, because health problems frequently don't crop up until after we rescue a given dog.
